A day here
From the front door to pickup
Each room keeps its own pace, but the day has the same shape from the Toddlers to the Fours.
- 01Early morning
Step 1: Arrival
Families arrive when the door opens at 6:30. A teacher greets each child at the room door and writes down anything we should know.
- 02Mid-morning
Step 2: Play and circle
Free play at low tables, a circle with songs and a story, and a snack.
- 03Around noon
Step 3: Lunch
Lunch comes from our kitchen and is served family style in each room. Infants eat on their own schedule.
- 04Early afternoon
Step 4: Rest
Infants sleep on their backs in their own cribs. Older children rest on cots, and those who don't sleep look at books.
- 05Late afternoon
Step 5: The yard
The fenced yard has a sandbox, a garden bed and a climbing frame, and every room goes out most days.
- 06End of the day
Step 6: Pickup
Pickup is by 5:30. A teacher hands your child to you at the room door and tells you about the day.

The yard was a gravel lot once. Now it has a fence, a sandbox, a garden bed and a climbing frame, and a teacher stands at every gate.
